Lucretia Coffin Mott

On this date in 1848, the 2-day Seneca Falls Women’s Convention opened. This was the first women’s rights convention. It was organized by local Quakers as well as Elizabeth Cady Stanton.   Three hundred women attended,  and about 100 signed a women’s rights document.
