As you read last week, you know that I had early access to the premiere of this special show on Hallmark Channel (I still have a giveaway going on here). It’s been an exciting week, and be sure to check out the end of this article for a mini-review of the next episode (just saw it tonight, and if you liked the premiere, “you ain’t seen nothin’ yet.”)
In the #Hearties community, there are plenty of things that happen throughout the year to keep the momentum alive. This community is one of the most supportive ones out there, and for each day of the regular week, they have special fan art days to focus on certain characters. I only joined in a couple months ago on this, and it is a blast. But as I follow the artwork of this community, some has truly stood out as special and amazing.
One such artist was recently recognized by Hallmark itself (check that out here), and a being the supportive community we are (yes I am officially a #heartie too–I told you they’re a welcoming group), several of us decided it was time to feature this special lady. And since I’m a blogger, this seemed like the best way to do it.
Meet Ardra Morse of McKinney, Texas (as a former Texan, I knew there was something I liked about this gal). She works as an engineer for Cinemark theaters. Although she knew something about editing photographs, she had never done any kind of fan art previously. She has been a #heartie from day one, and fan art wasn’t even on the horizon for her.
One evening, destiny struck. She had a twitter account that had been dormant since 2009, and she decided to give fan art a try. She enjoyed herself immensely that week, and she finally took a screenshot of her artwork and tweeted it to the star of When Calls the Heart, Erin Krakow.
(note that Erin responded–she’s such a sweetheart)
Thanks to this encouragement, Ardra has become an absolute legend in the #hearties community. The buzz surrounding her work is always intriguing to read. When she is getting ready to post, I notice that she sometimes warns the #hearties so they are prepared for her pictures. I do believe that her pictures have quite the effect on many in the community.
Here are some others of her favorites:
Ardra also makes lovely videos based on this series, and this is one of her favorites.
So why am I featuring her? Because this woman has talent! But she is so humble and down-to-earth, she doesn’t think like that. She’s just been doing this for fun. However, we #hearties think it might be time for her to consider pursuing this passion. And so I invite you to check out the following links and support this truly talented woman!

As promised, let me just give you a “mini-review” of the episode airing on May 2nd. What I can say is the writers of this series are pure genius. This episode is jam-packed with humor, drama, and heart-wrenching cliffhangers. I thought the premiere was good until I saw this tonight. I promise not to provide any spoilers, but if you have not read anything about this episode, you might not wish to read on.
Did you think we were finished with Mr. Gowan? Oh no my friends! And he’s going to be in for a long time to come. If you want a villain, you’ve found one. There may not be any mines, but he’s not leaving any time soon. And as you well know, if anyone crosses his path, he will dice them up and feed him (or her) to the lions.
There has been much buzz about #TeamCharles. And Charles is still there and not going away any time soon. As much as I hate Mr. Gowan, he’s easy to hate. Charles? Oh he’s so cute, but we loyal fans want Jack and Elizabeth together. Hurry home, woman! Go get your Mountie! No conclusions, my friend. NO spoilers. You just have to keep watching.
Hopefully the #hearties won’t “eat me alive.” My new favorite character is Rosemary. Pascale Hutton plays this role so brilliantly, and as you may have realized last week, her character is changing. And her interactions with Jack had me howling. I thought she was humorous last week, but I love her more this week. Add to that her unusual friendship with Abigail–oh I’m liking that. If you ever watched the old Little House series, you might remember the character Nellie Olson. Yes indeed, she was always my favorite character too, so it makes sense that I would latch onto Rosemary as they are similar in character!
And dear, sweet Julie. Ah, poor girl. For her, life is one big romance novel. Some of the #hearties have discussed whether she and Jack’s brother will start a relationship. Well, we shall see, my friends. I am grateful the authors have included her more in the series as she is a delightful character as well.
Well, it looks like maybe Elizabeth is getting some good advice from her mother? And how is her mother’s health? These questions and more will be answered. It ought to be quite surprising as well from whence the help arrives.
This is the picture that has set the community on fire. Who is this mystery woman? Oh dear #hearties all I will say is this is a game-changer in ways you cannot even imagine. I never expected the exchange between these two, and I have no idea what the future holds. As you know, Abigail and Bill are “my couple.” Make sure when you’re watching that your animals and quieter members of your family have earplugs. I don’t know how loudly I screamed!
One other story of interest. The new minister comes to town, and that stirs things up as well. Oh and if you are a fan of Feisty Florence, you will see her in all her glory (and beautiful new look). So keep your eyes open!
Till Saturday evening, here’s the official promo:
