RE Vitalize Giveaway–Multiple Winners (ends 4/9) U.S.
Our modern lives have us pulled in multiple directions at once. By mid day we feel, like my daughter says, a wet noodle. Energy drinks offer brief relief of the mid day slump but they also pump us with artificial sweeteners that in turn tire us more. RE beverages from Rushmore Superfoods are different. Yes, they provide energy. Yes, they […] -
This Day in History March 24, 1906
On this date in 1906, a census was done of the British Empire. This census reveaed that Britain ruled 20% of the world. As part a former part of this amazing empire, I can say that I am grateful they made the decision to colonize America so that I can live where I do. This Day in History March 23, 1956
On this date in 1956, Pakistan was declared an Islamic Republic. Therefore, it is a day of celebration for this country. This country has had a long history, but I will admit I have my reservations concerning this country. Nevertheless, I wish this countr well on their special day. On this date in 1873, Puerto Rico abolished slavery. The owners were compensated with 35 million pesetas per slave, and the slaves were required to work another three years. It had been a long process for abolitionists. For more info: http://www.enciclopediapr.org/ing/article.cfm?ref=06102001 http://www.loc.gov/rr/hispanic/1898/slaves.html -
This Day in History March 21, 1983
On this date in 1983, TIME magazine recalled all of its magazines that had been published on that day. And why? The only known typo on their cover is what precipitated this recall. Instead of the word “control,” it said “contol.” It is very hard to find pictures of this typo, but you can check out the links below to […] -
This Day in History March 20, 1931
I am always horrified when I read of how “Christians” martyred fellow Christians over insignificant (in my opinion) doctrinal differences. Although I believe I what would be called believer’s baptism, I do not believe that this is a “deal-breaker” when it comes to the tenets of the faith. Unfortunately, on this date in 1531, Sicke Freerks (Frerichs, Frericx; also called […] -
This Day in History, March 19, 1945
This is exactly what Hitler was trying to prevent. On this date in 1945, Hitler proclaimed the Nero Decree in which German factories were to be destroyed. This was a suppsed preventative measure since Germany was losing, an he did not want the Allies to gain control of these commodities. Hitler wanted there to be nothing but “scorched earth” remaining […] -

It was on this date in 235 A. D. (Or possibly it was March 19), that the last Roman emperor of the Severan dynasty was murdered. He was commonly known as Alexander Severus, and his reign was from 222 until 235. Maximinus was nominated as Emperor, and so he and his mother were assainated so that the throne would be […] -
This Day in History March 17, 1897
It was on this date in 1897 that boxer Bob Fitzsimmons won the heavyweight title by beating Jim Corbett. The knockout happened in round 14, and it seems that this may have been the first film of a boxing match. I am not a boxing fan, but I do find this intriguing. This Day in History March 16, 1934
I was not aware of this particular Act in our nation’s history. On this date in 1934, the Migratory Bird Hunting and Conservation Stamp Act (amended to be called the Duck Stamp Act) was passed by Congress. It requires that all waterfowl hunters 16 years or older must have a valid Federal hunting Stamp. Money collected from these stamps go […]
