I am so pleased to be able to share my thoughts on a great new CD featuring the runner-up on Dancing With the Stars. I was sent a CD in exchange for my honest review which I am sharing below.
Until this season of Dancing With the Stars, if you would have asked me who Zendaya or Shake It Up was, I would have looked at you with a blank expression. I have not really been much of a Disney Channel fan. My daughter knows more about them than I do, and she knew of the show. Zendaya was the runner-up on Dancing With the Stars, and although I am glad Kellie Pickler won, this girl is an amazing dancer with a fantastic attitude.
The stars of Disney Channel’s hit television series “Shake It Up,” Bella Thorne and Zendaya (recentrly seen on ABC’s “Dancing with the Stars” and is one of the youngest contestants to compete), kick off the all-new Shake It Up: I <3 Dance soundtrack, from Walt Disney Records.
The collection of 12 dance tracks is featured on the third season of the hit show.
Shake It Up: I <3 Dance features songs by Bella and Zendaya as well as fellow Disney stars Selena Gomez, Bridgit Mendler, Roshon Fegan andCaroline Sunshine, in addition to up-and-coming stars Coco Jones, McClain Sisters and more. The Shake It Up: I <3 Dance soundtrack is currently available for $9.99 on both iTunes and Amazon.com.
“Shake It Up” is the #1 live-action TV series in its time period among Kids 2-11 and Kids 6-11. The show chronicles the adventures of best friends CeCe (Bella Thorne) and Rocky (Zendaya), whose dreams of becoming professional dancers are realized when they land roles as background dancers on the most popular teen dance show, “Shake It Up, Chicago!”

So what were my thoughts? If it were up to me, I would probably not be playing the music again. But I did not review this for me–it was for my daughter. And she absolutely loved it! Every track was clean and danceable. And that is what I appreciated! My daughter is only ten (almost), and there is so much garbage out there. It was nice to find a CD that contains fun music that is absolutely appropriate for her to listen to. My daughter was glad that Selena Gomez is featured on one of the songs as well.
So in my humble opinion if you have “tweens,” this may be the perfect CD for them to listen and dance to. Teenagers would probably find it too unsophisticated for their tastes (unless they are a fan of Shake it Up).
I was sent a CD in exchange for my honest review. I was not financially compensated, and all opinions are 100 percent mine.
