I began writing fan fiction short stories in 2010 as means of escape. Every night, after ten hours of work and once the children were finally tucked in bed, for the fifth time, I would sit at my laptop and let my imagination flow through my fingers. Typing over eighty words per minute, my stories quickly began to form from novellas into full length novels. I used writing as my therapy, my release for stress.

Buried Treasure
Ever hear of the Atari treasure myth? Atari was a company that produce console games, popular in the 1980s. While a lot of their games were hits, some were…not so much. So a story began to circulate about a site, buried treasure if you will, of dumped Atari games. Specifically, it was mentioned that the E.T. game had done so poorly, that the company decided to dispose of all available inventory into a landfill. But after years and years, the story became myth and legend. Lovers of Atari began to question the validity of the story. Yet there were a few treasure hunters that persisted and finally, it paid off….sort of. I mean really, what is the pay off? Are the games worth anything? They’ve been sitting in dirt for over twenty years. Are they playable? Will collectors pay money for this game? Or is the payoff in the thrill of finally finding the dump site and proving the legend to be true?

In the 1600s, a galleon ship, Nuestra Senora de Atocha, was caught in a hurricane off the coast of Key West. Supposedly, this one held an enormous cargo of gold, silver and gems. The original captain’s manifest claimed coins of different values, emeralds, boxes of gold and silver bars.
