I am so grateful to be able to work with companies that offer 100% natural health and beauty products, and when I got the chance to review some natural lavender deodorant, I was so excited.  All the company has asked is that I give my honest opinion in exchange for a free product.

It used to be that deodorant was something that automatically contained aluminum to keep one from perspiring.  Or at least, that was the way it was when I was growing up.  If someone said deodorant, I assumed it was deodorant and antiperspirant.  It was through my daughter that I learned about natural deodorant (which has become all the rage).  She has only ever used natural deodorant.

When this lavender deodorant arrived, the smell was so pleasant (even before I opened it). I appreciated the fact that it was in a stick form (I have used natural deodorant that is cream version, but the stick is still my preference).  Lavender‘s deodorant contains wonderful oils for the skin including Shea butter, almond oil and coconut butter for the nourishment of the skin. Also, it has sodium bicarbonate and essential oils that are active ingredients that prevent sweat smell for hours. The scents in Lavender‘s natural deodorant are only pure essential oils blends. The company realizes that there are those who are sensitive to such smells, so they do make this deodorant without the scent as well.

This product does not affect the process of sweating, and it does not contain aluminum salts, the active ingredient in antiperspirants available today. This material harms the body‘s sweating process and prevents sweat’s secretion. Lavender‘s deodorant does not contain talc nor magnesium silicate powder which many studies have linked to cancer. It also does not contain preservatives (Parabens–also related to the increase in breast cancer among Western populations. It contains no alcohol, petroleum, nor artificial fragrances. And, of course, these products are never tested on animals.

Now, you might be wondering how a product like this works.  Well, I will tell you one thing.  The fragrance is very long-lasting.  It does last for hours.  Even when you start sweating, you won’t smell until later on.  I was grateful to continue to smell that wonderful lavender scent.  The product goes on quite easily, and it is not irritating to my skin as some deodorants can be.

I do have a couple of complaints–or at least, things you might wish to know.  It is important that you let the product dry some before putting on your clothes.  It did stain (the stain came out in the wash, so no worries) the underarms of a sleeveless top I wore.  It just looked like I had sweat a lot, but it was no real trouble.  I haven’t had that happen as long as I let the product dry a little before getting dressed.

My biggest issue is that it does not last all day.  When the warm weather hits, I have found that my underarms get sticky (normally happens in the afternoon), and I have to reapply my deodorant.  After working out for a half hour, I really do smell mildly of sweat.  So that is one thing I wish were not the case, but it’s a minor nuisance.  The product does not keep me dry, but that’s not the point of it.  And if using it twice a day is what is needed to keep me from using harmful products, it is worth it.

I invite you to check out the company at their site at the link above and be sure to follow them on facebook for the latest news and deals.  I noticed they are running a sale now!
I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.
