Welcome to the Books to Movies Giveaway Hop hosted by Bookhounds and I Am a Reader, Not a Writer. This is fantastic hop that celebrates the fact that some of the best movies were originally from books. I’m going to share a few of my favorites with you, and there will be a great U.S. giveaway at the end of this post! Plus, you will want to hop on for the chance to win even more!
Did you know this film was based on The Trapp Family Singers? Yes, a lot in the film is true, and Maria von Trapp herself was pretty pleased with it. It is one of my favorite movies from of all time.
This movie was based on Ian Fleming’s children’s book of the same name. This is one time I can say that the film is better than the book.
This Mary Poppins is quite different from the one created by P.L. Travers, but I still love this musical. Mary Poppins and Dick van Dyke are some of my favorites.
I never have read the Nicholas Sparks book, but I have loved this movie from the first time I saw it. I still cry every time.
A cinematographic masterpiece even though the book is better. A real classic!
And I’m just getting started. I could have listed Phantom of the Opera, The Hunger Games, To Kill a Mockingbird and more! I absolutely love seeing good film versions of books.
So what can you win? This is only open to my U.S. readers due to many variables, but don’t worry. There will be more international giveaways coming up soon! One U.S. entrant will win a book that has been made into a movie, a movie that was based on a book, or a combo (cannot cost more than $20). All you need to do is enter the rafflecopter below by 9 P.M. on September 3, and you are in to win! And don’t forget to hop on!
