I remember what it was like when I began blogging, and I was waiting for companies to contact me to review their products and their books. I couldn’t get over how long it took to get people to contact me. I don’t know when I first discovered it, but I found out that book tours were the answer. Did you know that there are companies that send you books to review, and you get to participate in what is called a virtual book tour? I’m sure I’m “preaching to the choir,” but there might be some of you who are not familiar with these. I am involved in so many, so I’m sure I will forget to mention some here. I am going to concentrate on my absolute favorites.
This is probably the biggest one with all sorts of genres. One word of caution–you must be proactive. They are busy people, and sometimes you have to e-mail more than once to get your requested materials. They are wonderful, and even when you miss a post, they are completely understanding.
This company has a wide variety of styles, and they are willing to work with you. Many of their books are adult, but the ones I have reviewed (that weren’t adult) were amazing.
This company is for Christians/religious books, and you are required to review a book every 90 days. Good quality books and generally no book tours. You have to review on your blog and amazon.
This company has experienced changes in leadership, but mostly it is a great company that is always in need of book reviewers and promoters.
This is one of the first companies I joined, and there have been plenty of books from which to choose. High quality, and lots of checks and balances to make sure everyone gets what they need.
This company is extremely diverse and has grown by leaps and bounds since I began touring with them. They have all sorts of incentives to keep you going and participating, and it is amazing how smoothly the tours run.
This is mainly a Christian book tour company. They have well-organized tours with a lot of big giveaways.
This is not an exhaustive list by any means. If you do a search for “book tour companies” or visit bloggers who participate in book tours, you will find plenty more. Before long, you will have more books to review than you know what to do with! (Note: Click on the image to be connected with the featured site.)

What an awesome list! I’ve never heard of virtual book tours and this is something I am definitely going to look into. Thanks for compiling this for all of us 🙂

Now I am responding to the correct comment, Jenny. Here we go. It is hard to say what my favorite blog tours company is. Actually, there is one I didn’t list that is probably my favorite because I know that if she recommends a book, I will almost be guaranteed to like it, and the books she has on tour are basically clean.
Here’s the link to her site:

Useful list. I just started hosting tours myself and have found Great Escape Book Tours to be great to work with. http://www.escapewithdollycas.com/great-escapes-virtual-book-tours/great-escapes-book-tours/

Yes, she is a great blogger, and I have signed up, but I have only gotten to do one tour with her.
