Boris Karloff

I first was introduced to today’s feature as a child at Christmastime.  The perennial favorite–How the Grinch Stole Christmas.  I never tire of watching this, and on this date in 1887, Boris Karloff was born.  William Henry Pratt was his name, and he was  born in London.  He was actually related to Anna Leonowens of the King and I and Anna and the King of Siam fame.  He began his career in Canada, and he also did a lot of hard physical labor which caused lifelong back problems for him.  He was most known for his horror films (Frankenstein amongst others), and he died February 2, 1969, from pneumonia.
