There is nothing more annoying than owning a printer only to find out that it is not the most cost effective model on the market. If you are an OfficeJet Pro owner then you may notice that your printer costs more than someone else’s even if they are part of the same range. Take a moment to find out why this may be the case!

Your Printer May Be Getting Old

It is a sad reality that as a printer gets older it becomes less effective. The reason for this is that continual use over time wears the parts down and makes the engine have to work harder to produce your printing, hence a rise in the amount of HP printer ink that you get through.

Sadly, the only way to rectify this issue is to get a new printer. However, before you head out to buy one take the time to work out whether spending money on a new one will actually work out to save you money or if you are better off sticking with your older machine for slightly longer.

You May Use It Differently

Whether you have the same series printer as someone else is irrelevant when it comes to usage. Many of us use our printers differently, put different demands on it and produce different amounts of prints each day. Each of these factors has a huge impact on the cost effectiveness of a printer and will result in you paying more or less that someone else with the same printer.

When you go to use your printer it is a good idea to question whether you need to and if you do, whether you can get away with printing in draft mode instead. Really considering your printing will not just save you money and make your printer more cost-effective but it will also help the environment!

You May Not Be Using the Right Ink

Probably the most expensive part of owning a printer is the cost of the ink for HP printers, especially if you buy genuine ink replacements! Did you know that each original HP cartridge you buy only tends to come half full, meaning that you are getting less ink than if you opted for a top-quality replacement ink instead!

Next time you need ink for your HP OfficeJet 6958 consider a company like Smart Ink who produce quality ink at a very low price. The other great part to getting replacement ink is that the cartridges are full and will last longer in your machine.

The next time you are worried about the cost effectiveness of your printer then take a moment to consider each of these points and look to make changes that will help to save you cash. Replacement ink is sure to save you a lot of money as will taking the time to consider if you really need to print or not. Ultimately, if your printer has passed its best then now may be the time to start planning a new purchase!
