[Mary, Queen of Scots] (LOC)

I honestly never seem to grow tired of learning about the Tudors in English history.  And I think their popularity does seem to last throughout the ages.  On this date in 1565, widowed Mary, Queen of Scots, married her second cousin, Lord Darnley Henry Stuart.  If you know anything of her tumultuous reign, suspicions of murder, rumored affair, treasonous accusations, and eventual execution, you may know that her life was as crazy as so much of her family (remember King Henry the VIII and his many wives?).  I honestly don’t know enough about her to comment on whether her sister was justified in ultimately signing her death warrant, but it certainly does seem cruel.  But then as wonderful a monarch as Queen Elizabeth was, she was certainly not perfect and always having to prove herself.  And I always sensed that she was somewhat cold, but maybe that’s not the case.  As to her sister Mary, there are too many unanswered questions.

  1. That is very fascinating history and have to say I knew nothing about Mary, Queen of Scots. I am going to read up on her now, as I am quite intrigued on learning more.
