Declutter Your Mind by Decluttering Your Life

Each day can be quite busy when you spread your time between work, home, and family. You may feel stressed and overwhelmed, but there is something you can do to help yourself out. Decluttering your surroundings can be a wonderful way to create a relaxing atmosphere where you can better cope with the day to day challenges life brings your way.

Work

Most people do a thorough spring cleaning at home each year, but many will forget to do the same at work. Take a week to designate as clean-up time. Get your employees involved, and clean everything from top to bottom. Replace broken items, and repair anything that isn’t functioning properly. For example, if you own a restaurant, scrub walls, floors, tables, and chairs. Replace appliances that no longer work, and repair things like that broken freezer door with kason door closers from online merchants like 0-Reps.

Home

You want your home to be a relaxing retreat at the end of a hectic day. Get the entire family involved with daily chores to keep things neat and tidy. Spend time with each other over the family dinner each evening followed by games, a movie, or some TV time together. Be sure to clean-up the kitchen, dining area, and living room before going to bed. Remove laptops, TVs, or other distractions that will keep you awake at night from your bedroom. Keep lights low, sound to a minimum, and fall asleep with a good book.

Family

It is easy to declutter your work space or house, but you can actually de-clutter the family as well. Too many families spend what little time they have rushing from one evening activity to the next. Talk to the kids about forfeiting one of their extracurricular events. This de-clutters the schedule so that there is plenty of room for quality time and memory making with one another.

By cleaning up the areas you live in, work in, and relax in, you are creating an atmosphere that helps you deal with all of the daily issues you may come across. No one can stay calm when their surroundings are in disarray. Once everything is in place, repaired, and clean, you can focus your energy on the more important things.

Thank you for sharing. I never thought about it that way.

Good advice. I know when I’m in a clean (decluttered) environment, I usually feel less stressed and more productive. It helps.
