Cross Stitch Projects For Easy Christmas Gifts

When I was a teenager, I used to buy a cross stitch kit to make special, homemade gifts for everyone on my Christmas gift list. I could always count on these kits to include everything I needed, and once I was shown the proper technique for cross stitch, it was something I could do very easily just about anywhere. I spent hours working on cross stitch gifts while watching TV, traveling in the airplane, and even going on car trips.

The nice thing with cross stitch is that one does not have to be overly skilled in the arts. I am not one who can devise my own pattern very easily. But if I have a pattern and cross stitch material, I am good to go. I can make it look like I have spent weeks and months working on something simple.

Now, I do advise planning ahead with cross stitch. I say that because while they are easy to accomplish, it may take several hours or days to make one. It requires counting, threading needles, and reading the pattern. A small design can take a relatively short time, but if tackling a bigger one, plan for at least a week or maybe even a month.

Once the design is done, this completed project is something that will always be treasured by the recipient. Whether it’s a Christmas ornament, a framed picture, or something more extensive, this is the perfect gift for everyone at Christmas time. Furthermore, since it’s homemade, it will mean even more to the recipient.
