FILM SYNPOSIS:
It all starts with one little seed of love.”The Miracle Maker is coming!” Everyone in the tiny hamlet is excited when they hear the news that the renowned man of wonders is coming to their village. But the humble traveler who appears isn’t what anyone expected. They were looking forward to someone magnificent who would change their lives. But it seems this man can barely take care of himself, let alone fulfill the dreams of others. However, miracles can come in all shapes and sizes-and sometimes from unexpected places.
Miracle Maker key art
I am so glad that my family and I got to review the heartwarming film that reminds us that one person can make a difference, and in this case, the “miracle maker” heals this quite broken town. The film is completely appropriate at all times, and though not overly “preachy,” it does remind us of the what is imporant in this life.

While this story is completely wholesome and filled with genuine commitment and faith, I have to admit that at times I was a little bit bored. The story does move fairly slowly at times, but that is not detrimental when you discover the purpose for the film. The film is never to entertain–the film is intended to give a clear message. And there is no doubt that the story line is never complex enough to do anything but focus on and deliver the message of the film.

As far as the costuming and scenery, I have nothing but the highest praise for this film.  I would have liked to have known the exact historical context and where the story takes place, but I guess for the purpose of the story, the writers chose to conceal that. After all, if this is a story that can happen any time anywhere, keeping the true historical context and locale keeps the viewer from saying, “Well, that could never happen in my town since that was–.”

On the other hand, much of the acting was a bit lacking. Now I realize that many factors enter into why an acting performance is deemed acceptable and involving.  In this case, I believe that either the actors are more inexperienced or the story line is a bit lacking. I would have loved to have seen some more malevolence from the “villain” in town, but I also accept that fact that this film is intended to be “family-friendly.” The best actress (and scene) was the little girl who led the children of the town to implore the town “Scrooge” to not force the pastor to leave the community. I found myself smiling as I watched these children, and it was a blessed reminder of what is right in this world today.

In conclusion, while this is not the best holiday film, I have ever seen, it certainly will be one that will make everyone in the family consider what is truly essential in this world today. You can rest easy and breathe a sigh of relief when you realize that the entire family can enjoy this family holiday film together and learn a valuable lesson in the process.
