I am immeasurely privileged to be one of the original #Postables fans, and getting an early look at this film was a dream come true! I would have preferred to have reviewed this earlier in the week but at least I am able to review it officially before it airs this evening. Be sure to check local listings as this is one not to be missed!

For those who are not familiar with Signed, Sealed, Delivered, you may wish to check out my review of season 1 of this fabulous series.  If you have not seen the other shows in this series, you can jump into this film, but you may be a little lost at first. I invite you to least delve into some summaries of the series (or watch the marathon that is going on while I write this).

Note: Although I always attempt to keep my reviews “spoiler-free,” there is always the chance that I will reveal something not previously known or released, so if that bothers you, please do not read on.

Permit me to begin by saying this is the movie that the #Postables have been awaiting for what seems like ages. The unresolved story all along has been–will Oliver’s wife return from Paris so that she and Oliver will get back together or will Shane and Oliver have a future together?

Al four of our beloved postal detectives return, and time has changed some things while others stay the same. Rita has fully embraced her “Miss Special Delivery” title, and Norman is beginning to feel conflicted as Rita receives attention she had not previously experienced. The friendship between Oliver and Shane has continued to progress, and there has been absolutely no word from his missing wife in Paris.

It is so great to see Geoff and Crystal reprising their beloved roles. I absolutely adore Rita’s “new look,” but it would seem that poor Norman is beginning to experience something he hasn’t experienced hitherto–jealousy. The chemistry between these two is as perfect and quirky as ever, but the focus has shifted to Norman. I cannot tell you what exciting things are in store for this couple! I don’t want to spoil anything for you, but do not take your eyes off this couple.

Although I always adored this couple, I struggled to see a future between them. Neither one seemed to be willing to make the first move towards deepening their friendship. Well, you might be shocked to see what happens between them. I grew to love this couple even more, and I wouldn’t have believed that Crystal and Geoff could be any better in their respective roles.  But I was wrong. These two have so immersed themselves in their roles that I often lost myself in the couple’s story in a new way. They are positively enchanting with a bit of sweet humor on the side.  I can hardly wait to see more from them in the next film.

We finally meet Holly, Oliver’s runaway wife. She is played brilliantly by Poppy Montgomery.  As usual, I have never seen this vivacious actress in anything previously, but she plays the role of Holly exceptionally.  The interactions between her character, Oliver, and Shane are played impeccably and with authenticity. I found myself enraptured with the story on the screen.

Now, I’ll be honest. I imagined Holly quite differently from how she was ultimately portrayed in the film. Part of the issue is that I wrote my own sequel to this story while we #Postables had the long wait for the continuing story. Once I got over the initial shock, I found that Poppy was the ideal actress for the role of Holly. As the story was explained, everything made perfect sense. I was glad I got one detail right! (I knew what term of endearment Holly would call Oliver, and I also knew he would hate it–chalk up one for me!)

I know that #Postables are all concerned about the various interactions shown in the preview for this film, but just remember–not all is as it seems. Making assumptions and inferring things based on possibly faulty misconceptions is a common thread in this film (and series in general).  This is Hallmark, and we know that happy endings are almost always assured.  However, it is an emotional roller coaster to that conclusion, and nothing is guaranteed. There sincerely could be no one better to play the role of Holly in just the way Poppy portrays her. She has mastered the perfect “opposites attract” passion play philosophy.

As usual, Kristin has completely brought her “a-game” to her portrayal of Shane. It is evident that she has completely immersed herself in this role, and each and every detail is perfection personified down to the most minute details. Her mannerisms, facial expressions, and the chemistry between her and the other characters is positively remarkable.

If you read my review of the series, you know exactly how I feel about Eric Mabius as Oliver O’Toole. Handsome, charming, and endearingly old-fashioned but always the consummate gentleman–Eric has brought perfection to a new level in his portrayal of this complex and truly lovable character.  His conflicted emotions and sense of right and wrong are fascinatingly charming and well-played.

Need I even mention his chemistry with the rest of the #Postables team and especially the character of Shane? Time has moved on, and the way in which he plays Oliver has evolved as this character has grown over the months.  Throughout all of this, Eric still maintains the Christian values of this amazing character in his portrayal.  I invite you to watch to the end because Oliver may just surprise you.

I want to thank Martha Williamson and Hallmark for continuing to provide moralistic and amazing Christian entertainment throughout this series of films. Indeed, this is my favorite of the series so far, and I greatly anticipate what is to come in the future.

Oh, did I not mention that they do solve a couple postal mysteries along the way.?And I salute Martha Williamson for emphasizing the virtue of honestly. In this world, integrity is not nearly as prized as it should be. People (Christians included) always look for a way to hide inconvenient truths, but this movie series always promotes “honesty is the best policy.” Thank you from the bottom of my heart. This is a treat for the entire family to enjoy that deals with real life issues from a Christian perspective. My daughter is a huge fan too.

Lately I have watched the Hallmark Channel more & more!! There is so much crap on TV lately that I am worried about what my grandkids are watching & learning!! You’re so right about dishonesty! I think dishonesty goes hand-in-hand with trust!! I am looking forward to this movie then & I know it will have a happy ending 🙂

After reading your review, Ruth, I am more determined than ever to watch this movie. I already have it set on my DVR just in case I am interrupted while watching it.I have loved the Postables from the start. Yep, they are quirky but that is what I love most. Thanks for reminding us that we can always count on the Hallmark Channels to bring us heartwarming stories to watch over and over. I love the warm feelings that I experience when I watch them.
