Recently, they released a new CD called United, and I was asked to review it in exchange for a free copy. All my opinions are 100 percent my own.

First of all, while I enjoy praise & worship music, sometimes I get tired of it. And I will admit that this is not a CD that I would want to just sit and listen to over and over again. It is very relaxing, peaceful, and filled with minimalism (in other words, many of the same chords and notes many times over with little variance). I am one of those people who appreciates music with plenty of variety, and that is something that will not be found on the CD.

Now don’t let my thoughts turn you off. As I continued to listen to this music, I discovered that the music began to grow on me. There is something to be said for simple, praiseworthy music. I felt relaxed and sometimes felt like throwing my hands up in the air in worship while I was driving (don’t worry–I wasn’t in that much of a hurry to meet the Lord in the air due to reckless driving). I found the music solid and soothing.

I am thankful that they publish the lyrics with the CD case because had they not, I may have struggled to understand the words. That is one thing I wish that more musicians would do–pronounce their words clearly.  But the going trend seems to be not doing that so this group is definitely keeping with current trends.

Finally, the heart of these musicians was never in question.  I knew that their desire was to worship the Lord. They are not desiring to bring anything but praise to Lord–never to themselves. Man’s applause means nothing to them.  Although I wouldn’t play this music all the time, it certainly was a wonderful way to begin my day. It reminded me of the God whom I serve!
