POTENTIAL SPOILER ALERT

Because so many of my #Hearties friends really enjoy my reviews, I decided to try my best to review each of the episodes when I get the opportunity to watch them in advance. This time, Hallmark made us wait two weeks for the next episode, and all I can say is that it is worth the wait. I thought the premiere was phenomenal, but this one is probably my favorite so far.

Hallmark always has a way of posting the pictures and dropping the hints that drive #Hearties crazy. And I promise not to drop any genuine spoilers, but if you don’t want to know anything, do not read on!

WHEN CALLS THE HEART - HEART'S DESIRE Abigail travels to Hamilton to stay with Elizabeth's family and is compelled to accept Bill Avery's help on a personal matter. A heroic act by Jack brings him closer to his ex-fiancée, Rosemary. Elizabeth returns to Hope Valley, she and Jack come together to consider what the future holds. This is a picture that probably upsets every one of the #Hearties because after all, why is Elizabeth dancing with Charles?  I know a few people out there are #TeamCharles (seriously?), but just know that all is not what it appears. Remember that Hallmark loves to lead you down a path that may or may not be accurate. I would actually invite you to pay more attention to Julie. (See her in the background?) That little nymph has so much maturing to do, and you will understand when you see the episode. I hope that she follows Elizabeth’s many words of wisdom she has tirelessly imparted to her younger sister.

This was the one that concerned me, dear friends, but do pay attention to the look on Jack’s face. In the previews, Jack is seen coming to Rosemary’s rescue. Honestly, although Rosemary has a few tricks up her sleeve, Jack truly understands her, and he is wise to her game. I was most concerned that Rosemary would leave the series. I love Pascale Hutton in this role, and the direction they are taking her character is absolutely entertaining. Rosemary provides much comedy in this episode, and I do believe she finally finds her “calling” in life (and what a potentially scandalous calling). You’ll understand when you see the episode.

I don’t know about you, but I have missed the friendship between Elizabeth and Abigail. I am so grateful that the writers decided to have Abigail visit. Poor Abigail. When we learned that Bill was still married, I was so enraged at the character that I tweeted to poor Jack Wagner (the actor who gives Bill life) and said he should be horsewhipped if he hurt Abigail. Quite humorously, Jack tweeted back to me and begged not to be horsewhipped (I simply adore it when the actors do those kinds of things). With Abigail visiting Elizabeth, one never knows just what may happen.

Remember Clara (Eva Bourne) from the premiere? Well, she figures into the reason that Abigail goes to Hamilton. And since we know she is joining the series, somehow she has to go back to Hope Valley with Abigail. The way in which the story unfolds is heartwarming and heartwrenching at the same time.

This is an unexpected plot twist. I thought Abigail would never have anything to do with Bill again? Well, I refuse to spoil the story, but please know that my feelings about Bill Avery have changed. I don’t want to lead you astray, but there are some stellar moments that made me reconsider the horsewhipping. Only time will tell where all this leads.

The best news about this episode is that it would appear that Elizabeth is finally making the right decision. In this featured picture, it is clear that she is saying goodbye to her parents, but if I don’t miss my guess, we have not seen the last of her family in Hamilton. There are a few dangling storylines, and I am certain the writers will address those stories again.

elizabeth and jack elizabeth and jack churchIf you follow me on twitter, you probably already saw these. You know very well what is going on, and the scenes between Jack and Elizabeth are just breathtaking.

jack and elizabeth by fireBut this is my favorite scene in the episode (actually what Jack says to Elizabeth in one of the scenes related to this scene is my favorite “Jack” line ever, so pay attention to what he says when she is fixing breakfast–I had to run it back because my daughter missed it). I always think to myself that Erin Krakow and Daniel Lissing cannot get better, and then they do! The ease with which these two interact is absolutely mind-blowing.  They are so convincing that I often forget they are actors portraying these characters. These two have such a way of bringing credibility to these roles that I am positively enthralled with them.

I could post an incredible amount of pictures, but know that episode will not leave you nearly as unsettled as the others. Don’t get me wrong–included is an abundance of drama and events that must be resolved. However, Elizabeth and Jack just make you feel like all is right with the world.

One question I refuse to answer is this–do they kiss? All I can say is–watch! You will discover for yourself. I found this episode completely captivating, brimming with humor, and overflowing with hope for the future. By the way, I enjoy Rosemary’s romance–perfect addition to the show.

In closing, there is one more thing that truly endears me to this show. I have mentioned before that this show is not overly Christian but is always based on Christian principles.  This episode has a sensational section in it that demonstrates the providence of God. No preaching, mind you, but it spoke to both my daughter and to me. God does care about every detail in our lives, and this episode illustrates this perfectly!

Ready to watch? Be sure to tune into the Hallmark channel on Saturday at 8 P.M. Eastern Time (check your local times), and sit back for the best episode (in my opinion) this show has produced to date!
