San_Diego_Comic-Con_2011_-_GI_Joe_action_figure_diorama_(Hasbro_booth)_(5977013868)On this day in 1964 (from what I can tell though there is some debate), the GI Joe toy was first created.  Hasboro started this in response to the Barbie doll market, and the original toy was called “Action Man.”  The word “doll” was never used in relation to this toy (after all, boys didn’t play with “dolls”).

1 Corinthians 16:13-14 ESV

My brothers had GI JOE toys. They would play for hours. Being a girl I was not allowed!
