Sebastian SpenceWell, today should come as no surprise to my regular followers on here. After all, if you’ve noticed over the past few months, one person keeps popping up on my blog–this guy, Sebastian Spence.  Quite amazingly, I am now very honored to call him my friend, and today happens to be his birthday. Now, I’m not going to go through his background. You can find much flawed information on the internet–don’t believe everything you read after all.  But today is a special day for him, and so I am featuring him here.

Interested in his films? Well, I happen to have reviewed quite a few (one is a guest review):

A Crime of Passion

Eve’s Christmas

Criminal Intent

Cerberus

Category 7

Shock to the System

The Obsession

To Have and To Hold

Daniel’s Daughter

NYC: Tornado Terror

Crash Site

A Mother’s Nightmare

My Mother’s Future Husband

Stolen From the Womb

Sebastian in the cold

That is actually the most recent picture I have of him.  Permit me to say one thing about him. All too often, “celebrities” are seen as just that. I think it is forgotten somewhere along the way that these talented people who are in the public eye are actual people. Sebastian himself put it this way to me once. He is a normal person who just happens to act for a living–to pay the bills.  I think sometimes fans of actors (especially ones like Sebastian who are so giving and generally kind) tend to interact with them with ulterior motives. Possibly these fans don’t even realize it themselves.  It would behoove everyone reading this to consider how he or she interacts with people and public figures on twitter.  So many times, the focus is extremely egocentric.  Try something new today.  Put someone else first for a change. You might be surprised at how that will change your perspective.

I could speak about my friend Sebastian and his redeeming qualities for a considerable period of time, but I’ll attempt to keep this brief (and those who know me, dear reader, know how difficult that is for me to do).  Sebastian Spence is a fine actor–my favorite after all–but he is so much more than that.  He is encouraging, inspirational, kind, genuine, patient, and even a bit mysterious at times.  Moreover, he genuinely cares about people, and that is a rare thing amongst those in the public eye today.  I will never say that he is perfect nor place him on a pedestal where he does not belong.  I’m a realist after all (at least I am most of the time).  He has a delightful sense of humor, and he always tries to think the best of everyone. In addition to all of this, he is immensely humble.  And above all, he is one of the good guys out there.  He deserves to be respected as an actor as well as a human being.  Do that, and he will definitely respond in kind.

As a tribute to this very dear man whom I am privileged to know, I have created a very special video with him in mind.
