We all have an iT to get over – some challenge in life that seems difficult, if not impossible, to overcome. These may be health problems, traumatic experiences in our pasts, or stressful situations in our finances or careers. Sometimes the iT stems from broken relationships or negative judgments we’ve encountered during our journey.

Combining lighthearted personal stories with ancient wisdom keys, Mary Buchan shares powerful insights that will help you drive away any dark shadows from your life and break free from whatever is holding you back from your full potential.

These same keys have transformed Mary from a shy introvert into a successful wellness nurse and life-reinvention coach. For more than a decade, she has helped people discover simple and practical answers for losing weight, handling stress, fueling energy, and rediscovering their life s purpose.

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Let me begin by saying that I have read plenty of these kinds of “self-help” Christian motivational books (and non-Christian, too), and I generally give them a 5-star rating without batting an eye. They are typically well-written and full fairly mediocre but inspirational information. In most cases, I will never look at these books again because after all, who has the time?

This 5-star rating is on a much higher level. I was completely impressed with the concise writing and common sense way in which Mary Buchan wrote this book. It is absolute genius, and I even shared some of the information with my mom. I just turned 40, and so I felt I could comprehend much of what was being stated in the book. She writes from a Christian perspective, but she never sounds preachy. She was candid in what she wrote, and this made the book even more relevant to me. She is also a musician (so am I), so could this book have been any better? I have already decided to go back through the book and work through some of the projects she has at the end of each chapter. I do recommend not reading this in one sitting (I know, I did, but do as I say, not as I do), and change can occur if you actively participate in the reading of this book. Do a little at a time, and immerse yourself in her ideas. They are real, and results are possible.

Lately, it seems that God is speaking through books just like this. At the age of 40, things do begin to change, but the beauty is that we still have time to make positive changes. I am so appreciative of this book, and I highly recommend it to women of any age!

I was sent a copy of this book in exchange for my honest review. I was not financially compensated, and all opinions are 100 percent mine.

Mary BuchanAbout Mary Buchan:

I am an Expert Midlife Reinventor, working with women to help them reinvent their lives, from changing careers to getting physically fit or more spiritually connected. I know what it’s like to feel lost and fearful in midlife. And I know the enthusiasm and contentment that living “on purpose” can bring.

Midlife gives us an opportunity to dig down deep, get clear on where we are headed and how we will get there. To streamline our lives and find more emotional, physical and spiritual balance. It’s a time to embrace our Life Purpose and create the life of our dreams.

I hit midlife searching for a “new identity” but had no idea where to go. As an over-50 empty-nester, with a nurse cap I wasn’t sure what to do with, I needed something fulfilling and fun to do with my life. That’s when I took a giant leap out of my comfort zone and created my new brand, Midlifestyle RNventor.
I was excited about my new adventure, but had no clear plan for where I was headed. As I ventured out to find my new path, I quickly became overworked, overwhelmed, and exhausted. I spent months searching for the perfect nurses’ niche creating the perfect website and career plan but didn’t even know if I was on the right highway! It seemed like there was more to life that I should be experiencing.

That’s when I took a rest stop to do some self-discovery. I soon realized that I was limiting my vision by thinking too small. Through prayer, asking myself some deep questions, and studying the principles of happiness and well-being, I reinvented myself, repurposed my nurses’ cap, and found my new calling in life.

As a Speaker, Author, Blogger, and Midlifestyle RNventor, I help Midlife Women who feel stuck discover and align with their life’s purpose so they can thrive, inspire others, and make the rest of their life the best of their life.
