Yesterday MourningYesterday Mourning by Renita Bryant

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

What an emotional read that will probably pull at your heartstrings in a favorable way! This book is written from several perspectives, but it is mainly told from the point of view of the daughter who will not make peace with her dying father. The reader is not privy to everything within the heroine’s life in chronological order, but I had no problem following the events in the story. The author did an exceptional job of capturing the inner struggles of Yvette. While I would not completely classify this as a Christian book, the profanity is minimal, and there are no sex scenes. God seems to be at the center of the story, and He is questioned regularly by several of the characters. It goes back to antediluvian query–why does a good God allow bad things to happen? This book does not answer the question, but the resolution does appear to be realistic. This is a short, powerful book that will hopefully make you realize that life is short, and bitterness does not come without a very stiff price.

I was sent a copy of this book in exchange for my honest review. I was not financially compensated, and all opinions are 100 percent mine.

Sounds like it would be a good book. It’s a nice topic but I like curling up to a good horror book.
