Homicide in High Heels (High Heels, #8)Homicide in High Heels by Gemma Halliday

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

If you are a fan of cozy mysteries and fashion, this is the perfect book for both interests. The characters are engaging, and it was exhilarating to read such well-written humor! I have noticed that so many authors do not know how to write engaging humor, but this author has a definitive talent for it. There was very minimal profanity, and there were no detailed bedroom scenes. That is always a plus for me!

As far as the mystery goes, my hat is off to the author. She had me completely baffled, and although in some ways the mystery is obvious, I did not solve it. She was quite crafty at dropping clues and concentrating on peripheral issues, but I just did not see it. I also appreciate the fact that the author included so much more besides the mystery. This story has a little something for everyone. It is a quick, entertaining read, and I would certainly read any book by this author in the future! Even though I am not a Fashionista, I was still enthralled with the story.

I was sent a copy of this book in exchange for my honest review. I was not financially compensated, and all opinions are 100

I recently went back and started reading some of Gemma’s older titles. Good stuff. I haven’t checked this one out yet, but I will (I’m a bookstore manager, always looking for new titles to read!). Great review.
