On this date in 1953, the first experimental 3D television broadcast occurred.  The show was Space Patrol, and it was not successful.  3D glasses were not easily accessible, and without the glasses, it looked like a blurry mess.  I had no idea that such technology was available back then.  Conversely, last year’s estimation of households with 3D-enabled television was about 21%.
