Novelist Linda Grant once talked about the importance of first impressions. She said that they are very lasting and have influenced the way she thinks of many other authors that inspired her work. The same philosophy can apply to your customers as well.

Making a great first impression to your customers is one of the most important things that you can do. The exterior of your business is usually the first that they will see. Fortunately, there are a number of improvements that you can make to improve your company’s brand.

Ways to Change the Layout outside Your Business

There are a number of changes that you can make outside your business to make a better impression. Here are some things that you may want to consider.

Maintain the Lawn

Customers often make judgments about a business based on how well-kept its lawn is. Having tall grass, lots of weeds or lawn problems will reflect poorly on your business. Therefore, you will want to make sure that your lawn is well maintained. This is a sign that you pay = attention to detail and take pride in everything that you do. It is a good idea to read some tips on landscaping, because your landscaper may not share them with you.

Make Improvements Along Your Foundations

You may also want to consider building up areas along the foundations of your business. Here are a few ideas that you may want to consider:

  • Add a patio on the western side of the building where it will get plenty of sunlight
  • Create a path around the building to make it easier for customers to get around
  • Consider adding an extra wall or fence about 10-15 feet away from the building

These changes can add some ambiance to your business. You may want to look at some images from Homes and Gardens or similar publications for ideas.

Adding Character to the Rest of the Property

There are a number of other improvements that you can make around the rest of the property. You may want to add some bushes throughout the property. You can also consider adding a fountain to your lawn as well. Some of them will allow you to create a spectacular musical fountain show that will add character to your business.

You may also want to consider adding a new lighting system for your business. This is a good way to add some ambience to impress your customers.

First Impressions Matter

Every business needs to make a great first impression. Making changes to the layout on the outside of your business is one of the best ways to do so.

You may want to start by looking at the exterior of your business. You may find a number of areas that you can improve on.
