As a parent, I am so grateful to find excellent, educational, and entertaining multimedia for children.  And I am so grateful to be able to tell you about one I recently discovered:  Iesodo.  I know the name sounds strange, but its subtitle may make more sense–“Where Fun and Faith Take Flight.”  This means that you can feel good letting your children watch this DVD series.  Here’s a little more technical information:

Iesodo (pronounced Yay-Sa-Doe), is a wise dove whose name means “The Way of Jesus”.  He and his lovable feathered friends live in the Holy Land in a beautiful Cypress Tree on the shores of a vast Lake (or as we know it, the Sea of Galilee). The birds are an unlikely group of friends, and though they have their differences, they have one thing in common: since they met Iesodo, their lives have never been the same!

I have a ten-year-0ld daughter, and it was extremely difficult to get her to sit down and watch it.  I had to remind her that this was for younger kids, and a few years ago, she would have loved it.  I truly enjoyed sitting down and watching this DVD.  The animation was beautifully done, and the story was simple, entertaining, and powerful.  The stories are reminiscent of Bible stories, but they never get “preachy.”  This DVD would be appropriate for children as young as three or four, and the oldest would probably be first or second grade.  The music was my favorite part of this DVD, and I look forward to passing this along to my friend’s grandchildren.

Take a look at the amazing trailer!
