Disclosure: I got this product as part of an advertorial.

give and save bannerFor as long as I can remember, I have given to charities.  Much of the early money I donated was to my church and its missionaries.  But as time went on, I was able to find many more organizations to help monetarily.  I prefer faith-based charities, but I am not opposed to helping out  those that are not connected in that way.  As long as the charity does good work and is responsible, I may be willing to give.  Even though I  am not completely solvent, I believe that giving money, goods, and services to those truly in need is something that I should do as a Christian and as an American who has been blessed beyond belief.  I have never gone hungry nor slept without a shelter.  Not everyone can say that.

give and saveI was so pleased to find a company that feels much like I do in the area of charitable giving.  If you’re like me, you like going to the various deal sites available online, but Give and Save is a most unusual deal site that I would encourage all of my readers to visit.  All you have to do is sign up, put in your local city, and the company will check locally (to you) for deals that are at least 75% off.  Then they will post these deals, and once you find something that you wish to purchase, you check out like you normally would.  The difference is that the company donates up to 50% to a charity with which they have partnered.  They have several listed such as the Humane Society, the American Red Cross, and the USO.

give and saveThey have several things listed, and just so you know, I got to try one of their deals (just so I could understand the process).  I chose a beautiful heart necklace that arrived just in time for Valentine’s Day!  As a side note, it is really neat to see how much this company has grown even over the last month.  I would venture to say that their way of doing business is catching on.  After all, who wants money going to corporate jets and fancy parties?  The money is much better served when it goes to people who really need it.   One other thing–shipping is free unless otherwise stated.

give and saveI invite you to check out the company via facebook and twitter.  Be sure to let them know what your favorite charity is (I posted on their facebook wall). It’s a good way of bringing attention to your favorite charity, and just maybe you’ll help send some money their way!

I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.

I believe donating to charities should be something every person does. It’s important to choose charities carefully though and it looks like you do this! Thanks for sharing 🙂

This sounds really neat. I will have to check them out. With our kids we volunteer locally as well as donate things. I remember doing it as I grew up so I wanted to pass that to them.
