Best Served ColdBest Served Cold by Tawdra Kandle

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

“As they say in the song, you done me wrong.” And Julia is going to do something about her boyfriend’s ending their relationship in a heartless way. I truly enjoyed Julia and Ava, and what girl wouldn’t fall for Jesse? Liam is a creep through and through, and the book was very cleverly written. This is the ideal New Adult book, and although it is fairly clear what will happen in the story, it is readable, humorous, and sometimes a little too hot to handle!

I will be honest. I could have done without the profanity. Although I am not permitting that to affect the rating of the book, I felt that the language took away from the beauty of the story. I was not overly offended by the intimate exchanges because much was implied, and it did not fill up multiple pages of the book. It would have been nice if they had controlled themselves, but I do understand. At least there was more to the relationship than the physical aspect.

I was more intrigued by Ava, and I would love to read the book about her story. I’m sure I would run into some of the same potential criticisms, but I have learned that when there is a good author out there, I can set aside problematic passages for the sake of the story. And, after all, promoting an author like Tawdra Kandle with whom I have worked in book blogger promotion programs for some time is certainly a rewarding experience.

I was sent a copy of this book in exchange for my honest review. I was not financially compensated, and all opinions are 100 percent mine.

This is one that has been on my TBR for a while; I am glad to see you were able to set aside your issues for certain aspects of the book and give an honest and respectable review. You would be surprised how horrible some people can be in a review over aspects they don’t care for.

Stephanie, my entire outlook on reviews is different than the vast majority of people. I’m constantly horrified when I see what some people write in “reviews.” Thank you for your kind words.
