George SeldenI was unaware of today’s feature, and  maybe you were, too!  On this date in 1895, George Selden patented his internal combustion engine along with the carriage it was intended to power.  Following this, a group of carmakers created a cartel, and the only way one could get a patent was to pay to join this exclusive group.
