I did not know it was FDR who truly confused Americans when it comes to Thanksgiving. November 26 was the traditional day for Thanksgiving, and it was Lincoln that moved it  to the fourth Thursday of November.  FDR departed from tradition, and he moved the holiday up a week, and people did not like it.  Finally, on this date in 1941, he signed into a law that officially put this celebration on the fourth Thursday of November.  What a big mess he created for us, but thankfully it is resolved.
