RobiComb Lice Zapping Comb Review

Sometimes companies send me items for review that are preventative in nature.  While I am able to review them to a degree, I can’t always put them to the ultimate test.  And that is true with this product I am about to review.  I am grateful that head lice have not been an issue this school year, but I was able to go through the motions of testing this product, and I am pretty sure I can give you my honest opinion as I have been asked to do.

RobiComb

The RobiComb is a non-invasive electronic lice comb powered by a single AA battery that detects and destroys head lice and nits (head lice eggs) on contact simply by combing it through dry hair. When the RobiComb’s metal teeth touch lice and their eggs, they get zapped, die, and then get combed away. The RobiComb lets you know with an audible signal whether or not head lice are present, so it can be used to detect an infestation as well as treat it.  In fact, many school nurses are now using the RobiComb for this exact reason. School nurses report that the RobiComb is able to find lice which they have missed when checking visually. More than 3,000 school districts in all 50 states are now using the RobiComb. Additionally, unlike other toxic chemical-based treatments, the RobiComb can be used as often as you like and repeatedly by the entire family. The RobiComb is available for $29.99 and can be purchased online at LiceGuard.com and nationwide at CVS and Walgreens.

With head lice lurking around every corner, make sure you don’t cause any unnecessary harm to your young one by treating an infestation with dangerous chemicals and pesticides. I would love the opportunity to work with you on a review regarding LiceGuard’s RobiComb as an effective and safe method for detecting and treating head lice and nits.

Let me tell you my head lice story.  When I was in elementary school, I got head lice.  I remember that the infestation was caught early and was not too horrible.  I remember the toxic shampoo, and I remember how my mom had to clean everything with special chemicals.  I didn’t remember it completely, but I had some memory of it.

I would like to say that is the only time I got head lice, but it’s not.  You see, I got head lice as an adult–just months before my wedding.  I was working at a church where there were lice infestations, and I got them from a baby (incidentally, everyone else knew the baby had lice–why didn’t they tell me?).  I had lice for a month before the problem was discovered.  I had long thick hair, and a very nice girl helped me get my hair treated.  It took a couple of weeks, two toxic shampoo treatments, and a treatment of rubbing alcohol before my hair was lice-free.  It is an experience I shall never forget, and it makes my head itch just remembering it.

I got to try this wonderful comb, and I have very high praise for it.  It was a bit of a struggle to get the battery in–the parts were very tight-fitting, and I was afraid I wouldn’t get them apart.  But that means you can rest assured that the head of the comb won’t be popping off every time you turn around.

I then turned on the comb, and it made a high-pitched buzzing sound.  I will tell you that the sound is unpleasant and somewhat annoying, but it tells you there are no lice nor nits (eggs).  The hum will only stop if a louse or nit is found.  It then zaps the little bugger on contact, and it means certain death for the louse and/or nit.  You’ll be pleased to know that the comb found nothing in my hair.

I can definitely see the good points of this comb.  It is all-natural, and it can be used daily.  There are also no toxins going into your body or hair.  In recent years, lice have become more resistant to the pesticides used to treat them.  Did you see what I said about using rubbing alcohol on my head?  Yes, that was a completely effective treatment.  People have been going back to using some of these old remedies (mayonnaise amongst others).  With this  comb, you don’t need those horrible pesticides.

I highly recommend this product, and I plan to keep it on my shelf.  If you’re concerned about the price, have you ever priced the lice treatment products?  This is a bargain!

I was sent a free product in exchange for my honest review.  I was not financially compensated, and all opinions are 100 percent mine.
