Well, what I have to share is something that God has been teaching that is not necessarily fun.  I have two “past men” in my life (an ex-husband and a best friend) that were very controlling and told me all sorts of things on a regular basis that were not true.  I have struggled to shake these “old tapes” in spite of the fact that some of these tapes are nearly twenty years old.  And this week all those horrible things came back to haunt me.

I was rear-ended on Thursday as I picked my daughter up from school.  On first look, it was just a minor dent.  I assured the lady that there was no problem.  And so I did not get her information (my bad, for sure!).  When I got home, I opened the trunk, and that is when I discovered the true problem.  Now I cannot close my trunk.  We tried to find the lady who did it, but we have been unable to do so.
So Thursday night, I truly had a mental breakdown that rivaled any I had in quite a while.  All the old things these men had said came back to me, and I wished I could die to end everything all at once.   God reminded me that I needed to listen to what He was saying, not what these men had said.  I was unwittingly letting them control me.
When your mind wants you to think such horrible thoughts, you need to replace these “old tapes” with God’s Word.  I highly recommend it.
Now it’s time for our featured linker of the week. I could not agree more. We have to be careful to think the right things – not thoughts that will harm and damage us. Good luck with getting your car fixed hopefully it won’t turn out to be too bad.

    Thanks for linking up!
