Kettlebell kitI have heard about kettlebells for several years, and I have wondered what the big deal was with them.  I was so glad to get to review these in exchange for my honest opinion, and I got to review an entire set complete with a DVD!

KettlebellI don’t know what I was expecting from kettlebells, but I was not expecting what I got.  Empower Fitness sent me a package that included a 3-in-1 Kettlebell set and an instructional workout DVD.

Kettlebell DVD

With these special kettlebells, you have the choice of using five, eight, or twelve pounds.  These Kettlebells are interlocked, and they are basically easy to unlock.  Kettlebell 4Let me caution you lest you make the same mistake I did.  Initially when I tried to separate these, I pushed down on the little lever, and the spring got caught up inside the kettlebell.  I know that sounds strange, but I had to work to get the lever working the right way.  I believe I pushed the lever too hard.  They are much easier to put together than to unlock.  I know this may sound confusing, but I say all this just to let you know that you will want to unlock the kettlebells slowly.  They are really clever, and I can’t imagine using any other kettlebells.

As for the DVD, I was somewhat impressed.  The woman who leads the DVD is not super skinny (I love that!).  She is also not a “spring chicken.”  But she is also not very motivating.  She explains what to do fairly well, but she has very little enthusiasm.  That’s not a bad thing, but on days when I am not in the mood for exercise, I often need the enthusiastic leader.  Notwithstanding, I did appreciate the fact that the DVD is divided into sections that make sense.  I can quickly access the warm-up and the cool-down.  And then I can choose which routine(s) I choose to do.

If you are looking for kettlebells and/or something to change up your fitness regimen, look no further!  And if you wish to know more, be sure to follow the company via social media.
