This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Miracle-Gro for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.

It seems as though summer has finally arrived in the Pacific Northwest.  It was a really a struggle for the sun and warm weather to arrive, and on such a beautiful day as today, it is almost a shame to stay inside.  The weather just begs for my daughter and me to be creative outside.   I don't know about you, but it seems that I struggle for garden ideas.  I just don't think my mind works like that, and I often just keep putting it off.  I don't know how to be creative or industrious in the garden, and I know that I need some inspiration and help.

But where should I turn? I am so glad that the people at Miracle-Gro realize that we need ideas.   It can be overwhelming for someone like me to come up with ideas.   They have created The Gro Project for people just like me.  And it works both ways.  If you have great ideas, be sure to share them so that people like me can go there and get inspiration.  It is a special place to share your story and to read the stories of others.   At  Miracle-Gro, they stress the fact that garden projects do not need to be complicated.  In fact, simplicity is preferred.  You want to enjoy your garden, not slave away all season long on it.  And we know that hearing others' stories is the best way to get a movement like this going.

I don't think that all of your garden projects have to be traditional.  Not everyone has a home with a large yard or garden.  It is good to see that Miracle-Gro's projects include the Ukelele Garden and Origami Garden.  You can even tackle the Toyarium.   Whatever project you use will be at its best (and continue to be so) with your use of Miracle-Gro products.  Rest assured that Miracle-Gro has so many ideas, advice, and even step-by-step videos to help you create your ultimate garden project. Those are some of the products that will ensure success.  That makes me feel good because I definitely don't have a "green thumb."  In fact, I am petty good at killing plants.  It's nice to know that these projects can help make my potential projects a reality.

I am not terribly skilled, so I figured I would try out one of the simple projects on their facebook page. The product I have chosen is the Toyrarium.  I went to the Gro-Project page, and I first dowloaded the project list and instructions.  I was pleased to know that I had most of the things on the list already on hand.  My daughter has a lot of toys that she would like to get rid of, and this would be a perfect use of them.  We have plenty of rocks, and we have some kind of glass container.  I would need to get a cactus or two as well as Moisture Control Potting Mix.   I think my daughter and I might just tackle this in the next couple weeks.

As an educator, another thing I appreciate about Miracle Gro's projects is that they are educational.  During the summer, it is very common for children (my daughter included) to just sit around and do nothing.  The kids tend to take a couple months of "no educational thoughts," and by the time they go back to school in the fall, they have gotten out of the habit of learning. What could be better than working on garden projects with your children?

In addition to very simple projects like the one referenced above, you can find all sorts of fun projects that use everything from LiquaFeed All Purpose Plant Food Advance Starter Kit to Shake’n Feed All Purpose Plant Food.  I love the fact that these kinds of projects are kid-friendly and almost impossible to ruin.  They are also quite frugal–always important in light of the current economy. I am so glad I have a mother who is better at doing garden projects than me, and she graciously is letting me share her ideas, and I will be able to tell you how to go about creating things similar to these.  In each example, using Miracle-Gro products is the only way to go as my mom has been their customer for as long as I can remember.  Their in-ground soils have made all the difference since our "soil" is so rocky and not conducive to growing plants.  Their Moisture-Control soil is absolutely fantastic!

This is one that my mom is most proud of.  We live in the country, and we were fortunate enough to have a nice stump just like this.  The windmill came from on onine store, and the swan planters came from a garden store.  You can see the rocks that we used, and the flowers that are planted in simple pots definitely benefit from Miracle Gro soil.

This is a much more simple idea.  You can see the chair with plants–got the chair from an antique store.  And the trunk came from either there or a thrift store.  You can see how nicely the plants and flowers look, and again, Miracle Gro benefits all plants.

You can obtain a simple bucket and "plant" it in the ground and then add some hearty green plants with Miracle-Gro soil. Quite honestly, I am grateful to my mom, and I think these are ideas that anyone could do.  I think the thing to remember is when you see a design like this, think of how you can use it and adapt it.  The possibilities are practically endless. I have spoken with my daughter about creating some special garden projects from the Gro Project site, and I think since school has gotten out, we will have to give them a try.  I actually feel inpsired to get out and create, and that is saying something.

For even more projects, you will want to follow Miracle-Gro on pinterest.  If you love pinterest like I do, you know that you can find truly amazing things, and this is no exception.  As I was looking around on their pinterest board, I was really excited to find instructions for making a herb garden using soup cans.  I actually spent some time looking for everything i would need for that today, and I don't have all of the supplies yet.  But that is a project I defintiely want my daughter and me to do this summer.  That is just an example of  all sorts of fun garden projects that can inspire you to create something special for summer.   And it works both ways.  Be sure you share your projects on their pinterest page, too.  Your successes will truly inspire others to try it, too!
