Well, I am not a sports fan, but even I know who Joe DiMaggio was.  And it was on this date in 1936, that he made his Baseball Major League debut.  It was against St. Louis, and he had three hits and three runs scored.  He was with the Yankees from this date through 1951.  I know him as one of Marilyn Monroe’s husbands.  His 56-game hitting streak still stands to this day–at least from what I can see.
