KissedKissed by Tanya Anne Crosby

My rating: 3 of 5 stars

I have to say that I was quite intrigued during the first portion of the book. And even somewhat into the second portion. Yes, it was fairly typical Regency romance, but there were some interesting little twists. And half of the story takes place in the American colonies. Jessie was a headstrong character, but she was liable enough–quite naive to be sure. I wasn’t too keen on Christian, especially during the second half of the book. He seemed to be too proud and sure of himself. I appreciated the humor in the book, and the actual writing of the book was very well done. I think this book had the makings of being a cut above the mediocre Regency romances.

Unfortunately, I found that the second half of the book was somewhat of a disappointment. There was a lot of profanity in the book–I can deal with that to a degree. But the bedroom scenes were way too long and involved, in my opinion. I struggle when the bedroom scenes begin to take over pages and pages of the story. And I felt like Jessie and Christian should have been able to stay out of bed more than they did. They seemed to find themsleves wrapped up in each other at the most inopportune times. I found it somewhat unrealistic. Now, I know that is why many love to read these books. I just needed a little more substance, but again, that is only my opinion. Just understand that I am not marking down the book because the elements I listed were in the book. Mainly, I would have preferred a little more action outside of the bedroom, but that is just me.

I was sent a copy of this book in exchange for my honest review. I was not financially compensated, and all opinions are 100 percent mine.

I haven’t read Kissed, but Happily Ever After by TAC was a cute one. Some substance with a little fluff.

I am so sorry. I did a search for it myself. I will say that you can find many of the author’s other romances on fishpond, but I can’t find this exact one. Be sure to check out her website: http://tanyaannecrosby.com/.
I would contact her direrctly on one of her sites–she has a link to e-mail her directly. She may be able to direct you further or let you know when it might be available.

Never heard of this book. Is this some kind of historical romance?

Yes, this is a Regency romance book that starts out in England and then it moves to Charlestown in the U.S. colonies. It is historical romance, so if you like romance and a bit of history, it might be worth your checking out.
