I am one who is always looking for healthy snacks and foods, and I was quite excited to get the opportunity to review these meal replacement bars.   They sent me three bars to review, and all they wanted was my honest review.  I will be sharing my mother’s opinion as well (thanks Mom!).

I am a busy woman, and I often eat breakfast on the go.  As a substitute teacher, I often have to leave early, and who wants to eat a big breakfast at 5 A.M.?  And who has time to site down and eat a bowl of cereal when you only have a short time to get ready in the morning?  I don’t want to eat a doughnut or a pastry–I need protein in the morning!

Pure Fitness Nutrition has a fantastic meal-replacement bar, and they sent me one of each of their top-selling bars.  Each one has 25 grams of protein, and each one is full of natural ingredients including oats, honey, and more.  I was sent:

  • Peanut Butter & Jelly Crunch
  • Banana Chocolate Nut
  • Dark Cranberry Chocolate

My mom tried the Peanut Butter & Jelly, and her experience was different from mine.  While she said it was filling, she struggled to finish it all.  It was very dry and hard for her to chew (however, she does have partials).

I tried the Banana Chocolate bar, and I was pleasantly surprised.  I didn’t figure I would like this flavor (which is why I chose to try it).  I liked the flavor–even though I am not a banana fan.  And I will tell you that for nearly three hours, I was not hungry.  I was so full after eating two-thirds of the bar, I wasn’t sure if I would eat the whole thing.  I have to say I was impressed.

I have not tried the Dark Cranberry Chocolate, and here’s why.  Although these are very healthy, they have over 300 calories per each bar.  So I have to remember to eat them in the morning, and maybe I’ll take it with me tomorrow.  My day starts a little later, and this would keep me fuller for a longer time.

In conclusion, I think that these would be ideal for breakfast-on-the-go or marathon runners.  I would like to see a smaller version of these as a snack bar.  They seem to offer a lot of products on their site, and I need to spend some time looking through the various options.
I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.

I sure can use these. I have a habit of skipping meal and then I’ll eat junk when i’m finally hungry. If I start with these maybe when I have to eat i’ll make better choices

These sound great! I have Lupus and sometimes I have long bouts of clinical fatigue which makes it difficult to prepare 3 squares a days. I also have a no appetite problem. I don’t mind the calories since I probably don’t get sufficient intake most days. I’m going to give these a try. I’s especially like to try the Banana/chocolate, 2 of my favorite things. Thanks for the review!
