I was surprised to learn about today’s feature. Infertility had been an issue for a long time in human history. Due to scientific developments, in the mid-20th century, artificial insemination was becoming a reality. Finally in 1983, a procedure was developed for fertilizing eggs inside one woman and transferring it to another mother who would carry it till birth. And on this date in 1984, the first baby was born from an embryo transfer, and it took place in California. Since that time, some 170,000 births from this kind of embryo transfer have occurred. But as can be imagined, ethical issues do exist. I have to admit I would never want to do this. Frankly, I was never a fan of any kind of fertilization procedures, but that is just my opinion.
