Usually I would put this review on goodreads, but it is not there as of yet, so for now, my review will be here.
When I began this book, I figured it would be one I would not like. The first chapter (you can read the excerpt above) failed to capture my attention. I figured I would have to “muddle through” this book. Joe and Kat did not seem to be characters I would care about.
All that changed as I continued to reading. I enjoyed the developing relationship between the two, and I was also intrigued by the mystery they were working to solve. The author injected some nice humor between the two, and I absolutely loved Kat’s vocabulary! There was a definite chemistry between the two, and I believe that most readers (myself included) would enjoy the romance between them.
Two things really pleased me about this book. The profanity was very sporadic and at times nonexistent. I am so grateful for that. And although the characters do not have the morals I would like to see when it sex, the bedroom scenes were not detailed. I always feel I can handle a book better when the details are sketchy.
I was glad to see the mystery solved ( no spoilers here), and my only complaint was the abrupt way in which the book ended. I would have liked to have seen more of a resolution, but then again, the author will probably write a sequel. This is a nice light read with a bit of mystery and romance that should appeal to a wide variety of readers. Definitely a 4-star book!
I was sent a copy of this book in exchange for my honest review. I was not financially compensated, and all opinions are 100 percent mine.
